Six of Cups

The Six of Cups is a card of sweetness, gentleness and returning to a simpler way of living. This card shows up to ask you to release the complications and take a step back.

Think about the sweetest time in your life. What made it so tasty? What is it you remember feeling?

Take a moment, or ten, to meditate on what you can do to thread that feeling into right now.

The Six of Cups is a card of spiritual exploration. It shows up when you get too heavy with this material world. This is the sign you asked for. It is in your best interest to slow down, look within and get clear: on who you are, on what you are here for, on what you want to create.

The past is floating around in your thoughts - those days when life was simple and blissful. Tune into these feelings and direct your attention to creating this simple sweetness right here, right now. A friend or lover from the past may cross your path. They have a message for you. Pay attention. This is not about going back, but is instead taking with you the lessons from the the past and weaving them into your present.

The Six of Cups also speaks to a new love coming, a delightful, authentic love. This card asks you to be willing to heal the pain from the past and trust in the beauty of love. Take time to love and care for yourself and allow another to love you. The latter may actually prove the more difficult of the two right now. Remember you are safe, you are surrounded by love and it is time. You are ready.

Look to see where in your life you can create space to make room for someone new. What does the other side of your bed look like? What does the passenger seat in your car look like? Your dinner table? Sometimes we unconsciously block new people from getting too close by surrounding ourselves with "clutter". Release the attachment to what love should look like and know that what you seek is also seeking you. Have fun and enjoy, be light, be yourself. You are amazing.

Today's Meditation:

Find a sweet space, get comfortable, relax. Let your spine be supported and in a neutral position. Lay on the floor or sit with your back against a wall. Close your eyes and soften.

Bring all of your attention into your breath. Do not try to control it. Breathe naturally and pay attention to where your breath goes and how it feels. After a few moments, simultaneously bring your attention into your heart. Lay your hands in the center of your chest. Let your mind be still. Stay with your breath and your heart beat.

After a few more moments silently say to yourself, "I am love."

Say it over and over for as long as you can. Then, when you are ready, release your affirmation and just be still for as long as you can. Enjoy the silence.
