Page of Wands

The Page of Wands is a sprightly and energetic friend who is always ready for a new challenge, a new project, and enjoys the thrill of bright beginnings.

In the Rider Waite deck this Page is shown examining his staff which has just begun to sprout new leaves. He is looking forward to the excitement of new undertakings and is curious about their potential. The staff depicted is slightly larger than he is, showing that he is still inexperienced. He has not quite acquired the skills needed for his new venture, but his ambition may well help him reach his goals.

This little fellow is eager and slightly impetuous as he is the youngest of the Wands representing fire. The feather in his cap is related to the element of air and informs the querent that this Page is also associated with messages. The small mounds of earth at his feet represent the beginning of an undertaking, gathering resources, and that he is in the process of creating something. The yellow colour of his vest is linked to the solar plexus which is associated with confidence and enthusiasm. This confidence, however, can at times be misplaced. This Page is well known for being optimistic at the start of a project but may not have the maturity or willpower to see things through.

This card often shows when someone has an issue keeping their attention focused for long periods of time.

In a love reading the Page of Wands is a positive card at the start of a relationship. It represents someone with a great deal of energy, enthusiasm, and bright ideas who perceives you as being a great deal of fun to be with. They are excited about the possibilities your connection could potentially bring. However, since this Page is not well-regarded in terms of stability and consistency, your romance may be short lived.

If you have been with your partner for a long time, this Page is an especially bad omen. It notifies you that your partner is looking for more excitement in their life or may be looking to decrease their level of commitment to you. This card can show up in the instance of an errant lover who contacts you intermittently when it serves their needs. It can also signify unexpected and slightly odd messages coming your way.

In a work and career reading the Page of Wands is an excellent card to have appear. It represents the start of new creative projects, new business, new plans, and exciting ideas which could be very fruitful. It can also signify that a person as yet unknown to you will bring these qualities into your life. If this card is accompanied by positive cards in the suit of pentacles, it can indicate that your ideas will be profitable.

The caveat with the Page of Wands is that he is often excited about the prospects of success but does not have the stamina to see things through to completion. Do check that you are actually willing to commit to your vision and apply yourself to the task at hand. A slightly more unusual interpretation of the Page of Wands is that it can represent a child with special educational needs or work involving children with special needs.
