The Hermits lantern signifies the ability to make correct decisions; and the union of his higher and lower-self both locked in place and in balance. The Hermit is upside down and lost until he finds his lantern, the symbol of his ability to “see the light” and make correct decisions.
Love And Romance: When the Hermit comes out in the upright position it heralds a time when a relationship has come to a standstill, a pause, or a time of re-evaluation. You are looking within to find the truth and searching for the answers whether to leave the relationship, spend the time to repair the relationship, or just hang in there. You are looking within to find the answers and your mind seems to be at a standstill.
Reverse: When the Hermit comes out in the reversed position, it heralds a time when a relationship may end because you are not willing to spend the time to repair the relationship. You want to be alone and not in any type of relationship, other than with yourself, let alone a committed relationship.
Work, Career And Money: When the Hermit comes out placed in the upright position it signifies that there is something private going on behind the scenes, which could be a confidential or secret agreement such as: a promotion, a raise, a new job, or receiving a lump sum of money that nobody knows about. The Hermit is very private and does not like to share his personal information with others.
Reverse: When the Hermit comes out in the reversed position it signifies that there are problems or issues possibly connected to your career, a promotion, a raise; and you want to understand clearly your current position in the work force and your future. You may also be on the verge of interviewing for a new job because you are unhappy in your position.
Travel And Moving: When the Hermit comes out in the upright position it heralds a time when you want to travel to meet a special mentor or teacher. You may want to withdraw from the life you are living and start over because you are not happy in the environment that you are living in. You want to travel long distances and visit another country, something that you always wanted to do, and explore. The union of this long distance travel is finally coming together and will happen.
Reverse: When the Hermit comes out in the reversed position on issues of travel and moving, the timing is not good to make the trip and is delayed and may not happen.
You want to move into your dream home, and you feel that you are very close to achieving this dream as everything is starting to fall into place.
Reverse: Your financial position will not allow you to leap forward into the home, and you may have been rejected by the bank to acquire the loan that you needed; your dream has taken a turn for the worse. You feel like you will never be able to afford to move into your dream house.
