An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips ~ Proverbs
The Beautiful Truth
Lotus Tarot has an opinion poll on our live readings page where we ask people what they really want from a reading. Nearly 10,000 people have responded so far and the overwhelming majority say that they want the truth – even if it hurts.
This makes sense. The truth, even if hard to hear, can be so empowering. The truth can save you time, heartbreak, even money. And it will help you to make the best choices for you. In this sense, the truth is such a gift.
The truth also facilitates genuine connections. It means that someone is actually listening to you, and in reply, you got an honest answer. See how intimate things suddenly became? Now you know where I stand – I’m vulnerable, you’re vulnerable.
Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics
Many of my clients tell me how nice it is to get an honest answer for a change. Often they have had a number of readings and were just told nonsense. If the truth can be so empowering and uplifting, why did the other psychics fudge their answers?
One study, published in the Journal of Basic and Applied Psychology, found that 60 percent of people lied at least once during a ten minute conversation between two strangers, and on average, the subjects lied almost three times. People lied to impress others and avoid conflict; and were mostly unaware that they had even been dishonest.
Even with genuine psychics, there are many reasons why they may not always be accurate. Reputation is very important to psychics, and this can motivate some readers to put a gloss over the finer details if they fear that you aren’t ready to hear the truth or they don’t know how to convey it in a safe way.
What Is True Anyway?
In any reading, you are ultimately getting the subjective opinion of your reader. We can be honest about what we perceive the be the truth and our own opinion, but who has a monopoly on what is truth? Who is objectively right all the time? Truth is subjective.
When the police interview bystanders at the scene of the accident, they will almost always find that each person has a different version of events, and often those perspectives may not reflect actual events. There are always three sides to every story: yours, mine, and the truth.
When a reader realises that their opinion might hurt your feelings unnecessarily, what good will come from sharing it? It is after all, just their opinion, and only valid at the time the reading anyway. You have free will and can often change things.
You Want The Truth?
So how can you get the beautiful truth in reading? How can you have the empowerment and connection, without blocks to truth stopping you?
What you need is the right psychic. Someone who is professional, highly skilled and doing readings because they have a higher purpose. Some ethical, genuine, and willing to risk being truthful with you because their priority is to help you, not to get praise.
Most importantly, you need someone who has enough empathy to deliver an honest message to you in a way that heals and not harms. This leads to a beautiful phrase I found recently: An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
Talk to Me
This sums up my approach to psychic reading and what I do. I believe that when the truth is shared respectfully, it should not feel like a slap in the face, but like a welcomed kiss. It doesn’t cross inappropriate boundaries and it is given sensitively with love for the other person.
It is possible to convey difficult messages in a sensitive, nonjudgemental and appropriate way – and I’m committed to doing so. If you’re tired of being told what you wanted to hear and you want the truth, come and have a chat with me. The answers can only help... and might surprise you.
