Five of Swords

It is time to accept that everyone and everything has its limitations. You could be involved in a power struggle with both sides believing that their way is correct. It may be that a third-party could intervene at this point in an effort to find some middle ground, but that is only if both parties are honest and willing to accept a compromise. If you are dealing with a liar then your only course of action could be to give up and walk away. This may leave you feeling that all has been lost.

You cannot win every battle. Sometimes the only thing to do is give up and walk away. This card is about knowing when to stand firm and fight and when to back off. Sometimes, the best thing to do is absolutely nothing at all. If someone is seeking a reaction from you, silence is deafening and speaks volumes.

The opposite to love is not hate, it is indifference. It does not get drawn into drama, it does not engage in reactionary behaviour and it knows when to let go.

If you are facing what appears to be a battle, ask yourself if this is a battle that you really need to fight. If the answer is yes, then consider your words and actions carefully. Less is sometimes more.
