The Knight of Pentacles

By Safina :: :: Leave a comment

Lotus-Knight of PentaclesThe Knight of Pentacles represents you or outside influences: a friend, lover, boss, or even an open enemy. The Knight of Pentacles is related to the Minor Arcana and represents the timing of choices and actions.

The Knight of Pentacles works for the Royal Court in the Tarot, and he/she is on a mission to complete a personal goal. The Knight is paused for a moment, and he/she is not charging ahead because the Knight is analyzing their situation, and considering their next steps.

This card represents the calm before the storm arrives that will be either good or bad. The Knight of Pentacles is the traveler: the big achiever who is responsible, dedicated, but also stubborn, a perfectionist, practical but might be controlling, slow moving, private, a good listener, work alcoholic, and very ambitious. The Knight of Pentacles wants to climb in status with his/her career and within society, and thinks with his/her head and is very slow to make decisions. The Knight is ambitious and disciplined to realize personal dreams and will not compromise his/her values and self-worth, and will not react until he/she is sure, because the Knight of Pentacles does not like taking risks.

The Knight of Pentacles comes out in your thoughts regarding your situation, along with what your intuition and your dreams are relaying to you. This card position shows that you are analyzing your personal dreams and not willing to take risks that will lead to failure before you take action, but at the same time, a friend, lover, boss, or even an open enemy may appear in your life. The presence of the Knight of Pentacles signifies that change is in the wind, and if you are in a stagnated situation with a friend, lover, boss or even an open enemy, the stagnation is ready to change! This card is numerated 12, however, if you add the numbers 1+2 together, you get the sum of 3. The number 3 represents spiritual timing, and a person with determination to follow through within 1-3 weeks because the Knight of Pentacles is on a mission!

Remember, the energies of the Knight of Pentacles are: ambitious, independent, intelligent, a problem solver, analyzer, truthful, loyal, determined, critical, but also dwells in the past at times (look at the stone monuments, or grave stones in the card, because it relates to the past). The Knight of Pentacles is related to the Virgo zodiac sign, the detective of the zodiac. The Virgo zodiac sign is known as the investigator of the zodiac, because he/she needs to research problems and is very critical before taking action. This zodiac sign is good at solving mysteries and putting the last missing pieces together to solve the puzzle, but the Virgo zodiac sign is slow until he/she makes the proper decision. Virgo may appear moody and detached, but this zodiac sign needs to feel certain before they act on something, because they do not like the unknown, this is why they have to analyze everything. The Virgo zodiac sign looks calm on the outside, but they have a nervous mind that is always analyzing because they are ruled by the planets Mercury, Saturn and Venus.

Astrology Note: The Knight of Pentacles is related to the Virgo zodiac sign, the element of earth (August 23 – September 22). The three decans of Virgo in astrology define the Knight of Pentacles personality. Virgo and the first decan = Mercury (extremely methodical and precise, analyzer, high standards and works hard), the second decan = Saturn (ambitious and a determined perfectionist), and the third decan = Venus (speaks, writes and communicates with confidence, loves attention, but needs to be in the right environment to feel secure, and takes risks related to love).

Timing: The Knight of Pentacles is numerated 12, when you add the numbers 1+2 together, you get the sum of 3, and the number 3 is related to spiritual timing. The timing of this card is within 1-3 weeks or related to the time of August 23 to September 22.

With Love and Joy,
