Your card today is the Four of Cups. When you see it in a reading, it means that you may be feeling a little bored or depressed right now. Perhaps you are feeling let down or disappointed by something or someone? Had you hoped for more? Perhaps there are others around you being negative and that isn’t helping either?
This card tells the story of Psyche. According to ancient legend, Psyche was so gorgeous that the god Cupid fell in love and married her. Cupid adored Psyche and was an amazing husband. However even though Cupid was a god he still wasn’t perfect. Psyche felt disappointed and started to have doubts.
It didn’t help that Psyche’s jealous sisters were constantly being spiteful and negative about Cupid. Psyche was onto a really good thing but she let her insecurities and the negativity get to her. In the end it really hurt her relationship and Cupid broke up with her for awhile. Luckily they got back together.
The moral of the story is that our thoughts are not always facts! If we get carried away with worrying, we not only stress ourselves out but we can lose what is good in our lives. Sometimes we can’t even see the good when our expectations are unrealistic and we only want perfection. When you see this card, it’s a message to try and look to the positive!
In modern psychology, the word psyche means the human soul, spirit and mind. Is your mind or heart troubled? I would love to read your cards and put your mind at rest. You received this card today for a reason, let’s find out what it is! Contact me for a live chat session today.
In love and gratitude, Caroline
