Tarot by bluemoonRight, after all the excitement that was worthy of an episode of Casualty:- (or ER:- if you prefer), I have to say how much I agree with Celeste and Karen Yes, providing a thorough reading of a typical spread from this forum does take hours for me, too, and I am, therefore, in awe of those who can seemingly do the job very much more quickly Having said that, I recognise that it is both a question of practice makes perfect and not trying to run before we can walk Another point I have found is that a reading of a spread is not finished once it's been committed to paper or, in this case, to keyboard and cyberspace: it is something to go back to time and time again and to reflect upon and digest and rework and reconsider A Tarot spread and its interpretation is always work in progress Yes, I also agree that some spreads seem to be much easier to read than others (and said as much in a pm off forum to a dear friend) I do not yet know the answer to this but I suspect, once again, that it has to do with lack of practice, lack of familiarity with the cards: the sort of facility that some readers demonstrate in their ability to quickly read *all* spreads put before them is surely something that takes years upon years of dedicated study and practice; and even then as Jason Lotterhand said (Oh, no, I'm not doing that one am I ?) I think, all things considered, it's a matter of time; all things come to those who wait Better to pat ourselves on the back in recognition of the progress we have made in coming this far than being wistful about the length of the journey still to go, don't you think? Edited to add: It becomes easier, I think, when your knowledge of the cards you're using is firmly in place and then you can relax and let the cards "speak" to you:- Yes, that's it! Mysti has put into words so much more succinctly what I was groping clumsily towards; thanks
