Hi Celeste, I agree with karen that some spreads are much easier to read than others

Some are just so dastardly complex that I can't imagine how anyone makes sense of them

It takes me a long time too

I organize the spread in front of me and my notes

Then I just take a general look at things

how well are the Elements balanced, etc

As I'm doing that, I'm writing my general thoughts

Very often I "see" something that connects the dots while I am doing that

Other times, I just have to wait for it

Sometimes it never really comes, and I have to leave the spread there for days while I come back to it from time to time

I find a well designed spread answers many questions much more easily, and I am all for designing our own spreads with clear positional attributes

One size fits all just doesn't work for me

I find myself pruning and rewriting most spreads for clearer understanding

It becomes easier, I think, when your knowledge of the cards you're using is firmly in place and then you can relax and let the cards "speak" to you
