Tarot Interpreting spreads! by Celeste

Hi Everyone, I have a question which i hope you can help me with

I do not lay many spreads, but since Alison`s lessons, i have been trying to join in with the various spread exercises, in the Reading and Spreads forum

I seem to be spending at least two or more hours trying to gain insights into the spread i have layed, i know i`m a beginner and practice makes perfect, but i do find it quite frustrating when my mind seems to go blank and although i know what the cards mean, i cannot for the life of me, seem to make a connection

I am eventually able to read the spread in a manner for which i`m quite pleased with, but boy, does it leave me exhausted!!! I am probably being too keen to interpret the spread quickly, and i need to think about all the possiblities over a longer period of time

I said in another part of the forum, that i thought the hardest part of learning tarot is understanding the meanings of the cards! Well, i have changed my mind! The hardest part for me seems to be interpreting the spread within a reasonable time scale

Is this because i`m new to tarot and spreads? or does this sometimes happen to all tarotist`s? I would hate to think, if i was reading a spread for someone they may have to sleepover!?! *Lol* Any advice would be most appreciated!
