How to improve my instinctual life 5 swords This was confusing to me as I initially thought, "What is an intellectual card doing in a position dealing with instinct???" The book gives a meaning as facing one's own limitations, or a possibility that one has taken on too much

I initially thought this might mean I have to accept my instincts are limited
Hi Kat, nice to see you again

I will use my old standby the RWS (US Games Systems, Inc 1971) for my comments

Sometimes:- the 5-Swords is a message about self-talk, that constant mind-chatter that it seems we all engage in

When self-talk is too loud, too demanding, and too incessant it is difficult to experience much of anything but listen

The message of this card in this position could be to interrupt the self-dialogue, modify how you engage in self-talk, and become aware of what is taking place around you

Without a keen awareness of our environment it is difficult to pick up on the subtle signals that are our instincts and our intuition

Improving emotional life -The sun

I took this to mean that the sun will come out soon after a period of darkness and things will start to get better

I should remain optimistic
Yes, the Sun in this position would certainly be a reminder of the cyclic nature of all life

There is an ancient rite of passage involving the Sun

In an person’s nineteenth year they became an initiate of the Sun and devoted the next decade to learning to bring the warmth, growth, life that the Sun gives to the Earth, into their inner life

When the initiate became that adept they then were ready to accept a protégé/initiate and teach them to make the Sun shine within themselves

Improving intellectual life King of Pentacles

Do I need material security in order to develop the intellectual side of myself…
This card can also be a caution about being over-committed of being “too busy” to seek out the information and sources that will give you a new intellectual perspective

This King may also be a lesson in having adequate financial resources to be able to afford yourself educational opportunities

What do you all think of my interpretations
I think they are excellent

Thank you for going us in this exercise! It’s in the cards!
