Tarot The Hudes Tarot Deck & Book by CelesteHi All, My sister came to see me this morning and brought me a present, she knew i was feeling a little down (nothing major, i might add!) she knows how my eyes light up when anything to do with tarot is waved under my nose!! *Lol* when i opened it it was the above mentioned deck and book "Wisdom in the Cards" I had not seen this deck before, and as i studied the cards i thought they were unusual, nobody smiles, you can`t really tell anything by looking at their faces and some of the people in the deck are in close-ups Having said that, i found some of the cards very beautiful, especially the World, i like the way susan hudes as entwined two hands against a backdrop of the map of the world I would like to share some of the words written in the book regarding the World card as i found it quite enlightening " The world signifies a synthesis, a coming together of the attributes of the entire Major Arcana. The title and map of the world in the background give us a key to it`s meaning When we say the phrase "You mean the world to me" or "I`d give you the world if i could", we are using the word world to mean everything or all The world doesn`t mean we have attained enlightenment, or that we are perfect Rather, it urges us to draw on all the planetary attributes we have seen in the previous cards of the MA, and use all of these attributes to go about our lives in:- the world .our planet The hand on the right, has a masculine feel to it, while the hand on the left shows us a feminine aspect The male and female combination shows us in order to create a compassionate world we need to bring to-gether the sides of our personality that have been labelled male and female We need to use these qualities in proper proportion and at appropriate times " Susan Hudes also said about the world " We are never too old or damaged to grow! We are vulnerable, yes, but also incredibly resilient!" What a wonderful way of looking at this card! I`ve only really had a quick look through the deck and book, but i think this is a deck i could work with in the future Some of the meanings of the cards are not the usual one`s that some of us, in the early stages of learning, associate with the cards so i don`t think i`m ready for it yet! HH, i know you have this deck, and i wondered what you thought of it?
