Tarot The Spread by Nathan
The original spread I used for the question about the job was done like this (using all Major Arcana Only) four cards
an outside influence to the left (the hermit) two cards in the middle for the answer (in order from left to right The World, and The Tower) and a second outside ifluence to the left (The Chariot) Although it wasn't intneded, when I laid the spread out, I felt that the influnce on the left was that of the past and the influence on the right as that of the future
I had two interpretations of the Tower in this instance (because the combination with the World was tough) but together with the World I interpreted it to be that she would hit some sort of "pothole" in her current job (and together with the influence on the right) that she would over come this obstacle and be successful
The influence on the left only suggested to me she either (in the past) carefuly thought out her current posion before going into it OR (present) she is carefully considering whether or not to stay in her position
to me this is obvious either way because the question was about that, AND her current position needed college study
I chose to use only the Minor cards to pin point the tower card better, because I thought I would have a clearer picture, and more detail
The keywords to this particualr deck for the five of swords (which I didn't look at until now, because I used a book on tarot) are "illusionary victory - defeat - shame - disgrace
" At this point the Lady also knows I'm just learning the tarot
And I had asked that she give feed back (which she has done) in order for me to help hone my interpretations a bit better
This is just a tough thing
If I am reading the cards right, this doesn't seem like good news (not every reading can be I'm sure) But I never had such a weighty issue before me such as this either
As far as the medical stuff, I'm sure she's more aware of the proccedure that her husband will be going through as well as the risks
I THINK that maybe the cards are suggesting then, that there MAY be some complications, but in the end he will pull through
At this point I am going to hold off answering that until I can find a "soft" way of telling her what the cards say
OH - I also told her (and she has been to other readers in the past ) that the cards aren't written in stone
That they give you more of a sense of how things are going and where they are headed currently
and things can be changed
