Tarot Comparative Empress by Stella

Good evening! First the stats: I use the original Oswald Wirth Deck (oops, sorry don't have illustrator's name) AGMÜLLER, 1976 US games Systems, ISBN 3-905017-82-2 OK, I've been dying to find out more about this topic for ages, so here goes: I started to study Tarot in France, which seems (judging by the literature and websites I've visited) to have a different interpretation of the Empress than Tarot circles/sites etc I've perused in Anglophone countries

Basically, following the French (?) tradition I've come to associate the Empress with ideas of growth, creation/creativity, communication (esp

the means thereof), in the intellectual/spiritual sphere, and not so much the biological/nurturing realm as I've read in some parts

I mean, in my deck the Empress DOES have her left foot resting on an upturned moon crescent, as if she wanted to keep her emotions firmly under control

.not to mention the fact that this card would also appear to be governed by Mercury according to my current study guide ("Le Tarot initiatique, symbolique et ésotérique", by Edmond Delcamp, Courrier du LIvre, Paris 1972 - great, but very dense book)

Am, needless to say, kinda in a muddle about this card, which came up in a reading quite recently

Could anyone point me to sources where I could find out more about possible interpretations for the Empress according to Tarot schools? Thanx !
