My own opinion is that one should become solidly rooted in a basic deck such as the infamous RWS or one of it's close variants

Then each deck you learn will broaden your horizons

I read them as what they are intended to be as much as I can

This is difficult, of course when first learning a deck

We have to be very aware of the author's intention I believe

So I would say, yes, I read each according to what it was intended to mean to the best of my ability at the time
