Tarot by bluemoonHi Drew! Thank you for introducing this topic My hello to the forum is no longer easily visible because it is now tucked away in the archives In it, however, I explained how I came to the forum via Alison Day's online Tarot site I used Alison's online readings and was mightily impressed by them in general and their accuracy and insights in particular On her site, you hover your mouse over the cards and click a card or cards when you are ready The reading is then provided As far as I am concerned, it is not necessary for my "essence" (sorry, I don't understand the term) to physically touch the cards On the contrary, I reckon it is perfectly valid for my inner self (unconscious mind, intuition) to guide me to the "correct" cards in this way as this is not so very different to the process that happens when I myself physically select my own cards for a reading What is:- limited is the amount of specific information and tailor-made precision that can be provided in the necessarily general card interpretations provided on such a site It was this limitation that partly led me to my own study of the Tarot so that I might read for myself with as much accuracy as possible (assuming that I can overcome the problems of subjectivity that are inherent to reading for oneself) In short, and, of course, depending upon the way the online reading site's program functions, I would say that online reading is valid to a point Ultimately, the proof of the pudding is always in the eating and so far, I have got a lot from Alison's site so it seems to work for me You have, in fact, touched upon a subsidiary question of some importance that I am still grappling with which is, how does Tarot work? Answers on a postcard, please ;) I hope to be in a position to outline my own ideas on this in the near future Watch this space!
