Hi Reiki Goddess, I do not use reversals either, the main reason is, as i am new to tarot ( about a year now), i am still understanding the cards, their meanings and how they relate to each other in a spread, for me to start reversing the cards would only confuse me, but i do look at the cards negative aspect when i`m studying them, because i think it is important to gather as much information about individual card meanings as possible
I think, if you lay a spread, you can consider all aspects of the cards, negative as well as postitive, according to the question,the postitions of the cards and how they relate to each other and the over all look of the spread
In my novice opinion, i do not think the cards need to be reversed in the spread to achieve a different reading than if they were all upright
(i hope that makes sense *Lol*) This is how i like to do it, but of course this is only my way
