One of the things that appeals to me about the study and art of tarot is the lack of hard and fast rules
However, that does not mean that there is not a great deal of dogma, superstitions, and rules and regulations envisioned by tarotists of every stripe
The important thing about the "shoulds" related to tarot is how you feel about it, what your opinion is, and how it fits in with how you use tarot
I know a superlative tarotist who has used the same single deck for more than thirty years: for readings for self, others, meditations, comtemplations, and storytelling
I know other tarotists who have a variety of decks that they use for different purposes
Others who use certain styles of decks for specific types of readings, and some use many decks for reasons ranging from the position of the Moon to the day of the week
