Tarot by HHWhen we first begin to study the tarot and then when we progress to reading the cards the possibilities that we are presented with seem endless Because it is wholly human to seek guidance, advice, and good counsel we tend to consult the tarot at every opportunity and frequently we ask the same question time and again Depending on the question, the spread, the messages and lessons of the individual cards, and the overall message/lesson it can take a very long time for the potentials and possibilities of the spread to be manifest The cards, much like our friends, do not like to be asked the same question over and over! When we ask a friend or a mentor for advice it is expected that we will examine that advise, think on it, and then either discard it or take action on it We should do the same with the advice from the tarot: complete one cycle before beginning another Like life in general the possibilities and the potentials presented in a reading are changeable and malleable When we use the tarot as a predictive tool what we are being shown is the potential future given that NOTHING changes Reading for ourselves can be filled with frustrations It is difficult to be wholly objective when we deal the cards in an attempt to reach an understanding of the circumstances surrounding us, personally It is especially difficult when the circumstances are charges with heightened emotions, such as romance, or the lack of it I think that it is necessary to carefully assess the question(s) you are asking, to critically determine if the spread you are using is appropriate, and to evaluate if the situation you are seeking advice on is one in which the tarot can give you guidance It is important to understand that sometimes other approaches to situations and circumstances are preferable before consulting the tarot It's in the cards!
