Hi Suze Salem! When I started out (which, actually, is not that long ago), it was with the Mythic Tarot purely because that was one of the decks recommended by Alison day in her online course
Other than the fact that the theme of the deck is Greek mythology - which I am attracted to anyway - I knew next to nothing about it or, indeed, Tarot itself
In my studies so far, I have been delighted with the deck and the results I am getting from it
I am certainly not saying dogmatically that you, or any other beginner, must do the same, though
On the contrary, I am a firm believer in choosing a deck carefully and ensuring that it is right, that it "speaks" to you
All I can:- say is that I have no regrets so far about my initial choice
