I think because I am so new to tarot, and so unfamiliar with much of the symbology (is that a word?) as a whole, at this point it is not as important to me as it is to you, when it comes to purchasing a deck
I definately am NOT saying that symbols are unimportant, just that I am unfamiliar with so many of them that I do not base my decisions strictly on their inclusion in the deck
I am sure, though, as I progress in my studies, and learn more of the symbols and their meanings, they will become more important to me in my decision to buy a deck or not
I also know that I have always been deeply affected by colors so I do know that as illogical as it may be color will always be my first indicator as it is with every thing I buy
(Believe it or not I also smell everything I buy, well, not everything) And no-I have not smelled my cards
