Hi!originally by Celeste:- I see (the 2 swords) as balanced tensions, it is a peace of sorts but is tinged with mistrust and suspicion, a wrong word or move could tip the balance and cause mayhem, the peace has to be worked at
I can go along with this

My initial thoughts centred on discord, quarrel, unbearable conflict but one of the Mythic Tarot's authors,* Sharman-Burke fleshes this out with notions of stalemate, impasse, tension, subdued hostility, the need to keep the peace, but also the difficulty involved in so doing. The 3 of swords i see as not only has a sorrowful card, but one of healing and recovery( but after much sadness though)
Conversely, I don't quite see this in this card at all; Celeste, could you say more about your interpretation here? The closest Sharman-Burke gets is to speak of possible relief after the tension of the 2 is brought out into the open.can anyone suggest a positive aspect of this card (the 9 swords)
It's difficult, certainly; perhaps the best I could do is to say this card represents fears and fantasies but that the facts in reality do not match the magnitude of those fears

The fears depicted are not exactly unfounded but they are tormenting the mind more than is necessary or reasonable

Sharman-Burke notes the card's associations with guilt and suggests that if the reasons behind the guilt are fully understood, then it can be dispelled (and the nightmares go away).thinking how i would convey negative messages to someone without knocking their confidence, how i would remain truthful, and still pass on hope and encouragement

.I suspect that would come with experience
I agree and I hope so, too

I imagine it also needs considerable sensitivity, communication skills, tact and diplomacy - qualities I lack in abundance :( *The Mythic Tarot J
