Hi Celeste, I do not have Barrett's deck, but have used it several times
His renditions are wonderful and he avoids anachronisms
Like you I have a fascination with all things Egypt and the story of Isis’ resurrection of Osiris fits the trumps quite well and the court cards and pips are eye candy
The accompanying book is terrific
Have you see Nefertari’s Tarot, artwork and concept by Silvana Alasia (Lo Scarabeo, 1999)? The golden backgrounds and gently rendered art creates a deck perfect for meditation and storytelling
