To face your shadow, you have delve into your unconscious, you have to take responsibility for what you dislike about yourself and you have to accept your own deep feelings and desires
Something is controlling you, ruling you, holding you back and now it must be confronted
To make any progress, you have to break those ties that bind
Things must be examined carefully, though
You must make sure you have all the facts at your disposal about yourself, your situation and your motives

Additionally, coming after the devil, I read the moon as welcome illumination, as a new phase of personal development, a new cycle beginning
What did Alison Day say in the online course notes? "The moon will illuminate your way and even if the path you are on is tough, all will turn out right in the end
" For my money, those inner dæmons will:- be exorcised; you will:- be inspired to begin a new phase in your life
Looking at the cards as a whole, both the devil and the moon (and even the magician, to an extent) have to do with the unconscious realm and its exploration
This suggests to me something you probably already know: the direction of your life at the moment is one of self-(re)discovery or, indeed, one of (re)discovery of your inner self
You are on a path consciously developing new skills that will ultimately lead to your finding out fully who you are
