[/quote] I would tend to see the Magician in the situation position as delivering a message about the necessity of intent and persistence, of seeking an answer but not being quite sure of what the question is (reinforced by the 2nd card in your spread)
The current situation is to look at your “issues”, decide what is important, what can be discarded, and what can be transfigured or converted: to determine through persistence what is illusion and what is real

[/quote]Following the Magician I would be inclined to see trump 15 as a lesson in setting boundaries, determining limits, and carefully delineating responsibility all ideas that dovetail nicely with your understanding of letting go of fears and punishing yourself senselessly
Setting and then maintaining personal boundaries is never done without peril to the status quo
It can be very difficult to teach others in our lives to respect our personal boundaries, not only those who are close to us our families and friends, but also our colleagues, and social acquaintances
Another possibility in this position is that The Devil’s lesson is to look to the shadow side, what has been called the unlived potential of our human condition
