Hi Wolfchild, I don`t really see it as contradictory, only different
I actually think it is a brilliant interpretation
The interpretation of the devil is spot on for my situation, I have been giving your comments alot of thought, and when i layed the spread, i read the meanings as alison has layed them out for the tarot course
I didn`t delve as deeply as you, probably because i do not have the experience and knowledge
But i hope one day to be able to read understand the cards as you do
I was looking at the Strength card as meaning i would find inner strength and determination to "go" for this promotion, so i saw it as a sign, if you like, to accept, i didn`t look deeper then that, so i wouldn`t have looked at it as a cautionary meaning, as indicated in your interpretation, because that some how seems abit negative, and i don`t see that when i look at Strength
But, when i read your interpretation as a whole, i get the feeling that the promotion is probably not all that it`s cracked up to be and there could be alot of hidden pitfulls! Which makes me think NO don`t accept it, even if i want to
I think where i may be going wrong is , i am looking to the cards to provide the answers, instead of making the decisions myself
I do know, from the lessons and books i`ve read, that the cards can only suggest possible outcomes, if we follow certain paths, but ultimatly the true outcome is determined by ourselves
I must keep remembering that!! I want to thank you wolfchild, and HH and bluemoon, for your help and insights for my FIRST spread
I will try to be more open minded and consider a more wider range of interpretations next time
I still have alot to learn and a long journey ahead of me!! kindness always Celeste :) P.S
I would have to do on the job training and possibly a course or two, i am qualified and have a certain amount of knowledge to be able to do the new job, but i would need some training in certain areas
( in reponse to ignorance showing in the devil card)
