Tarot by HHOriginally by Trizya:- Hi just want to ask, how influent the reverse card to you ? most of my tarot readers friends didn't use it as they thought a positive energy of one card must have its opponent please give me advice thanks :D [/quote] Hi Trizya! I apologize for not answering your query sooner I cannot give you advice:- , but I can share how I use the cards and my opinion on reversals I do not use reversed cards in readings I find it more accurate and beneficial to acknowledge that the images of the tarot cards represent a plethora of shaded meanings The meanings are correlated to the deck's creator and to our understanding of the symbology of the cards and to the cards that are encountered in the entirety of the spread Assigning meaning to the inversion of cards seems to me to discount the very nature of tarot, and consequentially, of life itself For is not life composed of seeking the balance point between what we in the western world see as the positive and negative? The specific meanings I assign cards in readings are based upon the following criteria: 1 ) the individual spread: how each card relates to every other card that is the layout 2 ) the "story" of the cards composing the spread 3 ) the cards that bracket "the cards" and the influences they exert 4 ) the meanings that I have assigned to the cards in any given deck 5 ) my personal tarot table and understanding of the deck with which I am working 6 ) the question Inverted cards have a meaning of their own when encountered in more than singularity in a spread: that meaning is that the querant or the reader is traveling in the 'wrong' direction That the focus of the reader is inward, rather than to the querant, and/or the question is either inappropriate, mis-phrased or not representational of what the querant is truly seeking However, the caveat to all my assumptions is that you, the reader, must first be consistent and secondly must follow a pattern that is of your own devising Remember that the inversion of your view is not an inversion from those sitting across the table from you .orientation is perspective I perceive the influence of the card as NOT being dependent upon its directional orientation It's in the cards!
