Yes I agree that the Tower is the Tower of Babel
My own understanding of the Tower as a symbol is that it represents man's creation, which is likely to be his personality and belief system, sometimes built on false illusion and self-deception, and the belief that he knows all
For the purpose of growth, the tower must be struck down so it can be rebuilt correctly, (hopefully)
