Hi Witchywoman, As I see the tarot as being cyclic and as reflecting both myself and others who are in my environment I expect to see a repeat of characteristics within the cards
While there is endless variety in the human condition it has been my experience that we are all more alike that we are different
Thus, in my tarot system there are overlaps, similarities, familiarities, as well as divergent, dissimilarities, and lack of familiarity amongst the cards just as there is in life
As I remember, Alison makes a point of saying that what she is presenting is the basics, to use an analogy the first layer of blocks in the foundation of what should be your personal understandings, your personal insight, your personal recognition, of the cards, individually and en masse:-
Reversals have a long and venerated history
If they work for you and add dynamics that you do not find without them you most certainly should use them
They do not work for me and I find them to be restrictive rather than expansive
Differences of opinions and different points of view are one of the things that make tarot so exciting
