Tarot Nine of Wands by Alaixa
Hello all!After working on the suit of Wands these past few days I felt somewhat confused about the Nine of Wands.The key words for this card is STRENGTH (inner strength/self assurance).However at first glance (RWS deck) the meanings I get from this card is:"suspicion","lack of self-assurance and the need to be on the defensive about possible/unexpected challenges"(The man in the picture looks so distrustful and unfriendly!It seems as if he could never rest or relax.Why that suspicious look if he's so self-confident?).For the reversed position(obstinacy,avoidable delays,suspicion) the meanings I get are "defenselessness","defeat due to overconfidence or negligence","hidden enemies or being caught by devious means","retreat","loss of strength and energy".I wonder if the meanings given by Alison depicts real states or it's just an ultimate message reminding and encouraging us to remain strong and self-assured being aware of victory and final success is on our side despite the obstacles we may find on our way.Can this card be associated in a more mundane level with STRENGTH?
