Tarot 3 card spreads from lesson 3 by KatHello all, haven't been on the board for a while - have been very busy, but I'm still trying to keep up with my tarot studies Although I am getting a bit behind :( I have been practicing 3 card readings using the major arcana as suggested by alison I have done the following for a friend, and would welcome any input on the interpretation Question: What will be the influences over the coming week? #1 - current situation: Death Image A man dressed in black with a mask on stands with his arms outstretched on a barren landscape Before him, two small women are kneeling offering up gifts, looking fairly scared A gir is standing at his feet offering a gift of a flower She does not appear concerned In the distance across a river are green hills, behind which the sun is rising The three female figures have not noticed this What the card says to me: change that can be accepted / welcomed or shied away from, but it can't be prevented THere is light on the horizon if you look Book interpretation end of cycles, moving to a new phase #2 - Advice from the cards - Wheel of Fortune Image This is set in a dark cave away from the green fields outside THere is a large wheel with 4 men positioned on the outer rim One is at the top, one at the bottom, one riding up and one moving down There are three women standing around - a young maiden passing the thread, a middle aged woman spinning the yarn and an elderly lady cutting the thread What the card says to me rise and fall of life, you could be on the up or down; fates; once you get to the bottom you will get to the top What book says sudden turns of luck, growth or new phase of life #3 - possible outcome - chariot Image A strong man in armour fieircely driving a chariot across a red desert terrain The chariot is being drawn by a white and a black horse pulling in different directions what the card says to me controlling two different "pulls"; driving on in face of adversity; courage; strength; aggression; arrogance What the book says agression guided by consciousness; facing anger and conflict; emerging stronger; Interpretation The current situation you find yourself in appears to one of letting go of an old cycle of life in order to embrace a new one Remember that this isn't necessarily a bad thing Cycles in life have to naturally come to an end in order to move on to the next stage The cards seem to be advising you to go with the twists and turns of life in order to bring about growth and this new phase You may have to deal with yours or others competitive or aggressive drives Do this with calm authority and don't try to suppress these in yourself Indeed, you may find you have become more accepting of these in yourself Any thoughts, comments etc would be greatly appreciated to let me know if i am on the right track (or not :()
