" If I print a deck from a CD I have had an affect on the market
Rather than spending the $$ to purchase a deck I have circumvented paying for the value of the deck
Another analogy: making a copy of a movie from a video rental shop
There is a copyright infringement notice on every movie that tells us that it is illegal to make copies, period
There is no waiver given to "for personal use"
The same applies to books, there is no exclusion to copyright for "personal use"
As an educator I can legally copy excerpts from books to use in the classroom, but I am forbidden to copy entire chapters
Graphics have even more stringent copyright exclusions
Legally, under copyright, it is an infringement to purchase a tarot deck and make copies of every card, even if it those copies are for personal use
Would not the same copyright laws apply to digital images of decks? Stumped
