Tarot by HHI can certainly agree that it can be difficult to read for ourselves with objectivity and clarity However, as I have said before, it is by reading the cards for ourselves that we develop the fluency, the comprehension, and the confidence necessary to read for others We come back to that same old question, if we cannot read the cards for our own empowerment how can we read the cards to empower others? Clarity of reading, in my subjective and highly personal opinion, begins with having readily accessible and straightforward meanings for each card in the deck Go through you deck and WRITE down your meanings for each card I use a worksheet laid out with columns for the card’s number, the cards title, AAN correspondences, keywords/concepts I then write a brief statement about that card Each of these worksheets goes into my journal The worksheets for the court cards include a category for jobs and personality After you are comfortable with YOUR meanings of each of the cards go through the deck again and begin to add positional variances to each of your meanings I normally start with four positions: self, obstacle/hindrance, strength/asset, and outcome The LWB and the tarot book(s) that you use are good places to begin to formulate meanings and definitions of cards However, the ultimate use of the tarot is when we understand the symbols, the icons, the glyphs, the sigils, and the signs of our deck(s) well enough to have a personal understanding of each card ----------- WHY is it difficult to read for ourselves? There can be several reasons: one is that we have not spent the time and energy to understand and remember the definitions we have assigned to the individual cards Write those meanings down in your journal By putting pen/cil to paper you are reinforcing your understanding of the meanings you have assigned to each card in your deck Another reason it may be difficult for us to read the cards for ourselves is that you are not asking specific, succinct questions Write the questions down in a your tarot journal Write the question down to provide a focus for your and your reading Be specific and write your specific question down to keep yourself focused Write down the name of the card(s) you draw, write down the meaning you have assigned to that (those) card(s) After you have down that they write out your reading Pay close attention to the meanings you have assigned to the cards and be specific while writing out your reading Just the facts, ma’am Don’t let either your judgements or your imagination enter into the reading As trite as it sounds it nonetheless remains true-- practice, practice, practice The more you practice the better you will become at remember the meanings you have assigned to the cards in your deck The better you know the cards the more meaningful your readings will become The better your reading become the more intuitive you will become and the better your readings will be The more you practice…
It's in the cards! HH
