Tarot Birth Date Cards by HHThere has been some tarot talk in the Pleasure of Tarot forum related to associations and correspondences, what are sometimes referred to by the acronym AAN alpho-astro-numeric AAN refers to several systems which seeks to closely associate tarot cards with certain astrological, alphabetical, or numeric concepts What follows is a numerological exercise that I have found useful for using to determine what are commonly called “birth date card” I use my birth date cards to create safe locus and an increased level of attention when using the tarot cards for meditation Add the numbers of your birth date MM + DD +19 +YY ----- Then reduce the numbers by adding them together in sequence, twice For example 09 +23 +19 +35 ---- 86 8+6=14 1+4=5 This persons contemplation cards would be card #14, known in various decks as Temperance, Peace, Art, and card # 5, the Pope, Hierophant Card #14, Temperance Keywords: Combining, Amalgamating, Deciding, Choice, Synergy, Synthesis, Integration, Achievement Astrological correspondent: Sagittarius Card # 5, Hierophant Keywords: Erudition, Learning, Admissions, Mastery, Cultivator of the mind, Instruction, Proficiency, Testing Astrological correspondent: Taurus By laying the cards in various positions and concentrating on the imagery, the correspondences and the keywords, it is possible to create iconographic and mental images for meditation and centering NOTE: most of us will have a reduction of numbers that will result in two contemplation cards However, if your birth date numbers add up to three digits the numbers are added in a slightly different manner For example: 08 +20 +19 +69 ----- 116 11+6= 17 1+7=8 Card # 17, the Star card # 8, Strength or Justice depending on deck influences If your birth date numbers reduce to a single digit, multiple that digit by two and then reduce again For example: 80 8+0= 8 8X2=16 1+6=7 card # 16 The Tower card #7 the Chariot The keywords and astrological correspondences given are from my personal tarot table Use the correspondences and key words from your own tarot table or from the information that came with your deck I have detailed a list of card pairings to simplify this exercise
